The Town & Country Band will perform Music for the Holidays this coming weekend.
The band will perform Saturday, Dec. 11, at 7 pm at the First Baptist Church in Churdan, and Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3 pm at Central Christian Church in Jefferson. The concerts will be identical.
Under the direction of Victoria Anderson, the band will play new music including “Twas the Night Before Christmas” arranged by Jack Bullock with narration by Jeff (from Jefferson) Lamoureux; “Tuba Christmas” arranged by Robert W. Smith and featuring Wes Anderson; a Robert W. Smith setting of the traditional carol “Silent Night,” featuring Renaye Lindgren on piano, Tori Riley on flute, and Wayne Lautner on trumpet; and “Christmas Village” arranged by Randall D. Standridge, which portrays five scenes from an old-fashioned, small town Christmas.
The band will also perform favorites like Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”
“We’ve really enjoyed preparing for our holiday concert, especially the new pieces. We think our audience will enjoy them as much as we have,” director Victoria Anderson said.
There is no admission charge, although donations will be accepted.
